Ziphz ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed and maintained by 1KB Apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Ziphz app on iOS.

Information We Collect

Ziphz is designed with your privacy in mind. The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Here is what you should know:

No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personally identifiable information.
No Analytics or Tracking: The app does not include any analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. Your usage of the app is completely private.
No User Accounts: Ziphz does not require you to create an account or sign in.
No Cloud Storage: Your files are never uploaded to any server. All file processing happens entirely on your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

Ziphz stores a small amount of non-personal data locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This includes:

Whether you have completed the welcome screen.
Your selected theme preference (dark, light, or system).
A count of how many free extractions you have used.
A cached record of your subscription status for offline access.

This data never leaves your device and is not shared with anyone.

File Access

Ziphz accesses files only when you explicitly select them using the iOS system file picker. The app reads archive files you choose, extracts their contents to a temporary directory on your device, and allows you to preview or export them. Extracted files are stored in the iOS temporary directory and are automatically cleaned up by the system. At no point are your files sent to any external server.

Third-Party Services

Ziphz uses RevenueCat solely for managing in-app subscriptions and purchases through the Apple App Store. RevenueCat processes transactions on behalf of Apple and does not collect personal data from the app. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.

No other third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks are integrated into the app.

In-App Purchases

Ziphz offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (weekly and yearly plans) to unlock Pro features. All purchases are processed securely through the Apple App Store. We do not have access to your payment information.

Data Security

Since Ziphz does not collect or transmit personal data, the risk to your privacy is minimal. All file operations are performed locally within the iOS security sandbox. The app includes built-in protections such as path sanitization to prevent directory traversal attacks and a decompression size limit to safeguard your device.

Children's Privacy

Ziphz does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for users of all ages.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal information for us to provide, modify, or delete. The locally stored preferences on your device can be cleared at any time by deleting the app.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Common Topics

Extracting Files: Tap the "Pick a File" button or drag and drop a ZIP file onto the app to begin. Ziphz will analyze the archive and display its contents in a file tree view. You can then preview individual files or extract them to your device.
Previewing Files: Tap any file in the extracted file tree to view a native preview without needing to export it first.
Exporting Files: After extraction, use the export option to save files to the iOS Files app or any connected storage location.
Subscription & Pro Features: Ziphz offers a free tier with a limited number of extractions and a 50 MB archive size limit. Upgrading to Pro unlocks unlimited extractions, large archive support, batch export, and expanded format support. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID and can be cancelled at any time in your device's Settings under Subscriptions.
Restoring Purchases: If you have previously subscribed, you can restore your purchase from the Settings screen within the app.
