Privacy Policy
1. Overview
VidQing ("the App") is developed and maintained by 1kbapps. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide
- Videos & Media: When you import a video for compression, the App accesses that video solely to perform on-device compression. Your video files are never uploaded to any external server.
b) Automatically Collected Information
- Subscription & Purchase Data: When you subscribe to VidQing Pro, purchase and subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. RevenueCat may collect anonymised purchase identifiers, transaction records, and device identifiers as described in their privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Compression History: A local log of your compression sessions (file sizes, dates, results) is stored on your device only using Apple's UserDefaults and local storage. This data never leaves your device.
- App Preferences: Settings such as appearance theme (Dark/Light/System) and Pro status are cached locally on your device.
c) Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, transmit, or store your videos or any media content on our servers.
- We do not use any analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel).
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers directly.
- We do not track your location.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To process and compress your videos entirely on your device.
- To verify and manage your Pro subscription status via RevenueCat.
- To store your compression history locally for your reference.
- To remember your in-app preferences (theme, settings).
4. Data Storage & Security
All video processing takes place entirely on your device using Apple's AVFoundation and VideoToolbox frameworks. Compressed output files are stored in your device's temporary directory or your Photo Library, depending on your choice. We do not operate any servers that receive or store your video data. Subscription data is securely managed by RevenueCat using industry-standard encryption.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party service:
- RevenueCat — In-app purchase and subscription management. RevenueCat processes transaction data on your behalf. Please review their privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
The App does not integrate any advertising networks, social media SDKs, or third-party analytics services.
6. Photo Library Access
VidQing requests access to your Photo Library solely to allow you to select videos for compression and to save compressed videos back to your library. We do not read, copy, or transmit any photos or videos from your library beyond what is necessary to perform the compression you request.
7. Children's Privacy
VidQing is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@1kbapps.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request information about data we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data. Since we store no personal data on our servers, you can clear all local app data by deleting the app from your device.
- Subscription Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
For any data requests or privacy concerns, contact us at support@1kbapps.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why did the file size increase after compression?
A: This can happen with very short or already-efficiently-encoded videos. VidQing automatically detects this and applies additional optimisation passes to ensure the output is always smaller than the original.
Q: My video has no audio after compression. What should I do?
A: Make sure your device is not in Silent Mode, or use headphones. The App configures the audio session to play back regardless of the Silent switch. Try re-importing and compressing the video again.
Q: How do I restore my Pro subscription on a new device?
A: Go to Settings → Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: Open your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, and select VidQing to cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Q: Is my video data sent to the cloud?
A: No. All video compression happens entirely on your device. Your videos are never uploaded to any server.
Q: How many videos can I compress for free?
A: Free users can compress videos. Saving, sharing, and deleting the original require a VidQing Pro subscription.
Q: What is included in VidQing Pro?
- Unlimited video exports and saves to Photo Library
- Share compressed videos directly from the app
- Delete originals to free up storage space
- Full access to all compression quality levels
Q: What subscription plans are available?
- Mobile Pro Weekly: \$4.99 / week — includes a 3-day free trial
- Mobile Pro Yearly: \$29.99 / year (~$2.49 / month) — best value, save 88%
