1kbapps ("we," "our," or "us") built the TypeHit app as a commercial application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our app.
1. Data Collection
TypeHit is designed with your privacy as a priority. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data generated by the app — including your typing speed (WPM), accuracy scores, error counts, session history, and preferences — is stored locally on your device only using Apple's on-device SwiftData framework.
We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personally identifiable information to use this app.
2. Data Usage
The data stored locally on your device is used solely to:
- Display your typing statistics and progress charts within the app.
- Generate shareable progress images at your request.
- Remember your preferences such as dark mode, haptic feedback, and sound settings.
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share your progress image using the iOS share sheet.
3. Data Storage & Security
All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData persistence framework. Your data benefits from the hardware-level encryption and security protections built into iOS. We do not operate any servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure that stores user data.
If you delete the app from your device, all locally stored data — including session history, statistics, and preferences — will be permanently removed.
4. Third-Party Services
TypeHit does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party service used is Apple's StoreKit framework to process in-app subscription purchases. These transactions are handled entirely by Apple and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. In-App Subscriptions
TypeHit offers optional premium subscriptions (weekly and yearly plans) processed through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or any financial details. 6. Analytics
TypeHit does not use any analytics SDKs or tracking tools. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or device identifiers through any third-party service.
7. Children's Privacy
TypeHit does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the app does not collect personal data from any user, it is safe for use by individuals of all ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has somehow provided personal information through external means, please contact us at the email address below.
8. User Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device and we do not collect or retain any personal data, you have full control over your information at all times. You may:
- View your data within the Statistics section of the app.
- Delete all your data by using the "Reset Statistics" option in the Statistics tab.
- Remove all data permanently by uninstalling the app from your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does the typing test work?
A: Select "Start Typing Test" from the Practice tab, choose your preferred duration (1, 5, 10, or 15 minutes) and difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard, Numbers, or Code), and start typing the displayed paragraph. Your WPM, accuracy, and error count are calculated in real time.
Q: What is the difference between Typing Test and Practice mode?
A: The Typing Test mode is designed to evaluate your typing speed under timed conditions. Practice mode provides a relaxed, no-pressure environment with different paragraphs focused on helping you build muscle memory and improve accuracy.
Q: Where is my data stored?
A: All your typing history, statistics, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers.
Q: How do I reset my statistics?
A: Go to the Statistics tab and scroll to the bottom. Tap "Reset Statistics" and confirm the action. This will permanently delete all your session history and stats.
Q: How do I restore my subscription?
A: Open the app, tap "Get Mobile PRO" to open the subscription screen, and tap "Restore Purchase" at the bottom. Your subscription will be restored if a valid purchase is found on your Apple ID.
Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: Subscriptions are managed by Apple. To cancel, go to your iPhone Settings, tap your Apple ID, then Subscriptions, find TypeHit, and tap Cancel Subscription.
