Privacy Policy

Data collection, usage, and storage

TypeHit does not require an account. Typing sessions (date, duration, words per minute, accuracy, error count) are stored on your device with SwiftData. Game best scores and preferences (haptics, appearance, onboarding answers, last game level) are stored on your device with UserDefaults. The app does not collect names, emails, keystroke content beyond scoring the current test, or precise location.

Third-party services and analytics

TypeHit uses no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Payments are processed by Apple. TypeHit uses RevenueCat to process subscription purchases and check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your purchase history and a random anonymous app user ID. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking. User rights

Your typing history and game scores stay on your device. You can delete all results in the app under Progress with Delete all results. You can request help or deletion guidance at support@1kbapps.com.

Children's privacy

TypeHit is a general typing practice tool and does not knowingly collect data from children. Parents can delete on-device history with Delete all results in Progress.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated date and text will appear on this page.

Technology Used

TypeHit is built with Swift and SwiftUI. It uses SwiftData for on-device history, StoreKit 2 to load subscription plans and prices, Charts for progress charts, MessageUI for support email, UserDefaults for preferences and game best scores, and Apple's on-device spelling checker (UITextChecker) to accept real-word answers in Tanglewix. Third-party SDK: RevenueCat, for subscription purchases and status only. It uses the Inter typeface under the SIL Open Font License. No AI or Apple Intelligence features.

What does TypeHit do

TypeHit helps you type faster with seven typing games on the Games tab. In the action games (Scampadoo, Zapsquish, Spellbonk), every correct letter moves the game: you run, zap bugs, or cast spells. The word games are Skyplonk, Combozo, Tanglewix, and Clackarace. The typing test is at the top of the Games tab. Each has Easy, Normal, and Hard levels and saves your best score. On the Practice tab, pick Typing Test or Practice, choose duration and difficulty, then type the shown text. Results show WPM, accuracy, and errors. The Progress tab tracks averages, history, and WPM over time.

Preview vs Pro

You can play two games, Scampadoo and Combozo, on Easy, and practice with a 1-minute preview sentence and see your result before subscribing. The other five games, Normal and Hard game levels, full-length practice texts, and extended 5, 10, and 15 minute sessions require a Pro subscription. Test and Practice modes, live WPM and accuracy, results, history, and charts are available in preview as shown in the app comparison table.

How to subscribe

Open the paywall from Get Pro on the Games tab, a locked game, a locked game level, a locked duration or Full text button, Upgrade to Pro in Settings, or after your first result. Select Weekly or Yearly, then tap Continue. Prices and billing periods come from the App Store. The subscription renews automatically until canceled in Settings.

Restore purchases

Open Settings from the person icon on the Games tab and tap Restore purchases, or tap Restore on the paywall. Sign in with the Apple Account used for purchase, then check the subscription state.

Manage or cancel a subscription

On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select TypeHit, then change or cancel. Subscribers can also tap PRO on the Games tab and then Manage subscription.

Dark Mode

TypeHit follows your iPhone's Light or Dark appearance. To choose one for TypeHit only, open Settings from the person icon on the Games tab, then Preferences, then Appearance, and pick System, Light, or Dark.

Troubleshooting

If the keyboard does not appear, tap the typing field again. If a game shows a red field, delete the typo and keep typing. If plans do not load, check your connection and tap Retry. If a test does not save, confirm the test finished with a WPM above zero. If issues continue, email support@1kbapps.com.
