Transcribehz ("the App") is a voice recording and transcription app developed by 1KB Apps. This page covers our Privacy Policy, Help & Support, and Terms of Use.

Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection

Transcribehz is built with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

All voice recordings are processed entirely on your device.
All transcriptions are generated on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework.
No audio, text, or personal information is ever sent to our servers or any third-party servers.
We do not have servers. There is no backend. Your data never leaves your device.

2. Data Usage

The App uses the following device permissions solely for its core functionality:

Microphone: Used to capture your voice during recording. Audio is processed in real-time on your device and is never uploaded or stored externally.
Speech Recognition: Used to convert your speech to text on-device using Apple's built-in speech recognition engine. No audio data is sent to external services.
Face ID / Touch ID (optional): Used to lock the app for your privacy. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS and is never accessible to the App.

3. Data Storage

All your voice notes, transcriptions, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you delete the App, all data is permanently removed from your device.

4. Third-Party Services

Transcribehz does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. The only external service used is:

Apple StoreKit: Used to process in-app purchases (Pro subscriptions). All purchase transactions are handled directly by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles purchase data.

5. Analytics & Tracking

We do not use any analytics tools, crash reporting services, or tracking technologies. Zero data is collected. Zero tracking is performed.

6. User Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you have full control over your data at all times:

Access: Open the App to view all your notes.
Edit: Modify any transcript or note title directly within the App.
Delete: Delete individual notes or remove them permanently from the Deleted Notes section.
Export: Share your notes as text or export them as PDF files.
Erase Everything: Uninstall the App to permanently delete all data.

7. Children's Privacy

Transcribehz does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require account creation, login, or any form of personal data entry. It is safe for users of all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Help & Support

Getting Started

Open the App — You will see the home screen with a microphone button at the bottom.
Grant Permissions — Tap the microphone button. The App will ask for Microphone and Speech Recognition access. Please allow both for the App to function.
Record — Tap the microphone button to start recording. Speak naturally. Your speech will be transcribed in real-time.
Stop & Save — Tap the stop button when finished. Your note will be saved automatically with a generated title.
View Notes — Switch to the Library tab to see all your saved voice notes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The microphone button is disabled. What do I do?

A: This means the App does not have permission to use your microphone or speech recognition. Go to Settings > Transcribehz on your device and enable both Microphone and Speech Recognition.

Q: Does the App need an internet connection?

A: No. All transcription is done on-device. You can use Transcribehz completely offline.

Q: How do I edit a saved note?

A: Open the note from your Library, then tap the edit button to modify the transcript or rename the title.

Q: Can I recover a deleted note?

A: Yes. Deleted notes are moved to the Deleted Notes section where you can restore or permanently delete them.

Q: What is Transcribehz Pro?

A: Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks the ability to open and view saved voice notes, AI-powered text enhancement, PDF export, and sharing. Free users can record unlimited voice notes.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

A: Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device to manage or cancel your subscription.

Q: Is my data backed up?

A: Your notes are stored locally on your device. They may be included in your iCloud device backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled in your device settings.

Q: The transcription quality is not great. What can I do?

A: Speak clearly and at a moderate pace. Ensure you are in a quiet environment. Transcription quality depends on Apple's on-device speech recognition engine and works best with clear audio.
