TimeStamphz ("we", "our", or "the app") is a timestamp camera app for iPhone developed by 1KB Apps. This page contains our Privacy Policy and Help & Support guide in one place. Please read it carefully before using the app.

Privacy Policy

1. What This App Does

TimeStamphz lets you take photos and automatically overlay a timestamp — including the current date, time, and optionally your location — directly onto the image. Photos are saved locally to your device. You can choose to save them to your iOS Photo Library (Pro feature) or share them via the iOS share sheet (Pro feature).

2. Data We Collect

TimeStamphz does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data remains entirely on your device. Specifically:

• Photos: Captured images are saved only to your device's local storage (app Documents directory). They are never uploaded to any server.
• Location: If you enable the location stamp, the app requests access to your device location via iOS. Your coordinates are converted to a readable address using Apple's on-device reverse geocoding (Apple Maps / CoreLocation). Location data is never sent to us or any third party.
• Camera: The app requests camera access solely to capture photos. Camera feed is processed entirely on-device and is never streamed or stored beyond what you explicitly capture.
• App Settings: Your preferences (stamp toggles, theme, positions) are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults and SwiftData frameworks.
• Purchase Information: In-app purchase verification is handled entirely through Apple's StoreKit 2 framework. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple processes all transactions.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.
• We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase, Mixpanel, Crashlytics).
• We do not run any advertising networks or sell data to advertisers.
• We do not track your usage behaviour across apps or websites.

4. Third-Party Services & Frameworks Used

TimeStamphz is built exclusively on Apple's first-party frameworks. No third-party SDKs are integrated.

• AVFoundation – powers the live camera preview and photo capture.
• CoreLocation & Apple Maps (CLGeocoder) – converts GPS coordinates to a human-readable address for the timestamp. All geocoding is performed via Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy.
• PhotosUI / PHPhotoLibrary – used only when you explicitly choose to save a photo to your iOS Photo Library (Pro feature).
• StoreKit 2 – manages in-app purchase transactions and subscription validation entirely through the App Store. No payment data flows through our systems.
• SwiftData – Apple's on-device data persistence framework, used to save your photo records locally.
• UIKit / SwiftUI – Apple's UI frameworks for building the interface.

Apple Intelligence & On-Device ML: TimeStamphz does not use Apple Intelligence, Core ML, or any machine learning model. All processing is standard image composition and text rendering on-device.

5. Location Data

Location access is optional. You can use the app and take timestamped photos without enabling location. If you enable location, the app uses When In Use authorization only — it does not track your location in the background. Your GPS coordinates are used solely to generate a readable location label (e.g., "New York, NY") for the stamp overlay. Location data is never stored externally.

6. Camera & Photo Library Access

Camera access is required for the core functionality of capturing timestamped photos. Photo Library access is requested only when you choose to save a stamped photo to your iOS Camera Roll (Pro feature). The app requests add-only access — it cannot read or browse your existing photos.

7. Children's Privacy

TimeStamphz is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address the matter.

8. Screenshot Protection

For free users, the app prevents screenshots of live camera sessions and saved photo previews to protect the integrity of the Pro features. This is enforced locally on-device using iOS system APIs. No screenshot data is captured or transmitted by the app.

9. Data Security

Because no user data is transmitted to external servers, there is no remote storage risk. All your photos and settings reside within your device's secure sandboxed file system, protected by iOS's built-in data protection.

10. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store any personal data, there is no data to access, export, or delete on our end. To delete your photos or app data, simply delete the TimeStamphz app from your iPhone. All locally stored data will be removed automatically by iOS.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

TimeStamphz offers the following premium upgrade options:

• Weekly Plan – billed weekly via the App Store
• Yearly Plan – billed annually via the App Store
• Lifetime Access – a one-time purchase

All purchases are processed securely by Apple. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Pro features include: saving stamped photos to your Camera Roll, sharing photos via the iOS share sheet. Free users can capture photos and save them within the app.

Help & Support

Getting Started

Open TimeStamphz, tap the camera shutter button in the centre of the tab bar to open the camera. Your timestamp — including date, time, and location — will automatically appear on the live preview. Drag the timestamp to reposition it anywhere on the frame before shooting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I turn the timestamp on or off?

Go to Settings (bottom-right tab) → Stamp Customization. Use the toggles to individually enable or disable the Date, Time, and Location fields on your stamp.

Q: Can I move the timestamp to a different position?

Yes. On the live camera screen, simply drag the timestamp overlay to any position on the frame. The position will be remembered for your next shot.

Q: How do I save a photo to my iPhone Camera Roll?

After taking a photo, you will be taken to the review screen. Tap the download icon (↓) to save the stamped photo to your iOS Photos library. This is a Pro feature — you will be prompted to upgrade if you are on the free plan.

Q: How do I share a photo?

On the review screen, tap the share icon (↑) to open the iOS share sheet. Sharing is a Pro feature.

Q: Why is the location not showing on my stamp?

Make sure you have granted TimeStamphz location access. Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → TimeStamphz and select While Using the App. Also ensure the Location toggle is enabled in the app's Settings → Stamp Customization.

Q: The app says "Locating…" on my stamp — what does that mean?

This means your device is still obtaining a GPS fix. Move to an area with better signal (outdoors or near a window). Once the location is acquired, the stamp will automatically update to your address.

Q: How do I switch between the front and rear camera?

On the camera screen, tap the rotate camera icon in the bottom-right corner to toggle between the front (selfie) and rear camera.

Q: How do I use the flash?

Tap the flash icon in the top-right corner of the camera screen to cycle between Auto, On, and Off modes.

Q: Can I import a photo from my library and add a timestamp?

Yes. On the camera screen, tap the gallery icon (bottom-left) to select an existing photo from your library. A timestamp for the current date and time will be applied to it.

Q: How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device?

Go to Settings → Get Premium and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

TimeStamphz subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple. To cancel, go to your iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → TimeStamphz and tap Cancel Subscription.

Q: Can I take screenshots of my photos?

Screenshot protection is enabled for free users on the camera and photo review screens. Pro subscribers can take screenshots freely.

Q: How do I view my saved photos?

Tap the Library tab (bottom-left) to see all photos you have saved within the app.

Q: Does the app work without an internet connection?

Yes. The camera, timestamp overlay, and local photo saving all work fully offline. An internet connection is only required to verify or restore in-app purchases. Location lookup requires a brief data connection for the initial GPS fix.
