Scanline Privacy Policy & Help
Last updated: September 10, 2026
Privacy Policy
Scanline is a document-scanning app that lets you capture documents with the camera, import selected photos and files, create PDFs, preview and organize documents, and use Pro features for sharing, exporting, saving copies outside the app, and OCR text extraction.
Information We Collect
Scanline does not collect personal data, create user accounts, use advertising identifiers, or track you across apps or websites.
- Scans and PDFs: Documents you scan, import, create, preview, and organize are stored locally in Scanline’s private app storage on your device.
- Camera: Camera access is requested only when you choose to capture a document. Camera content is used to create your scan.
- Photos: If you choose to import from your photo library, Scanline uses only the photos you select.
- Files: If you choose a PDF or image through the file picker, Scanline uses only the files you select for import.
- App preferences: Preferences such as your appearance setting, onboarding status, and Pro entitlement status are stored locally on your device.
- Support requests: If you contact support by email, your email address and the information you choose to include are used to respond to your request.
How Information Is Used
Your scans, imported files, and extracted text are used to provide Scanline’s features, including document detection, perspective crop, image enhancement, PDF creation, in-app preview, document organization, and OCR text extraction.
Scanline does not use your documents or personal information for advertising, profiling, marketing, analytics, or sale to third parties.
Data Storage and Sharing
Scanline stores saved PDFs, document metadata, and thumbnails locally in the app’s private storage on your device. Scanline does not upload your scans, PDFs, thumbnails, or extracted text to our servers.
You control whether a document leaves the app. When you use a Pro sharing or export feature, Scanline opens the system share sheet and sends the selected file only to the destination you choose. That destination may have its own privacy policy and terms.
You may delete documents from the in-app library. Removing the app deletes data stored in Scanline’s local app storage on your device.
Apple Services and System Frameworks
Scanline uses Apple-provided system frameworks to provide its features:
- AVFoundation: camera capture and flash control.
- PhotosUI: importing photos you select.
- Vision and VisionKit: document detection, perspective crop, and OCR text recognition.
- Core Image, ImageIO, and PDFKit: image enhancement, image processing, PDF creation, and PDF preview.
- SwiftData and FileManager: local document and app-data storage.
- StoreKit: Pro subscription purchases and purchase restoration.
Scanline does not integrate Apple Intelligence features, external AI models, social media SDKs, third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, tracking SDKs, or third-party APIs.
Subscriptions
Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple handles payment processing. Scanline does not receive or store your payment card details or Apple ID credentials.
Analytics and Tracking
Scanline does not use analytics or tracking services. It does not track your activity across apps or websites, and it does not share data with advertising networks.
