PNGPX Privacy Policy, Help & Support, and Terms of Use
Effective date: March 16, 2026
PNGPX is an image conversion app for converting supported image formats into PNG files. This page explains how PNGPX handles your information, how to get help, and which terms apply to your use of the app.
Privacy Policy
PNGPX is designed to process your images primarily on your device. We aim to collect as little information as possible while providing image import, PNG conversion, saving, sharing, and subscription functionality.
Information We Collect
- Images and files you choose to import from Photos or Files
- Basic file details needed to perform conversion, such as file name, file size, image dimensions, and file format
- Converted PNG files created by the app
- Conversion history stored locally on your device, including past conversion results and file details
- App preferences stored locally on your device, such as appearance settings and conversion-related app state
- Purchase and subscription information needed to unlock paid features
- Limited technical and transaction-related information processed by Apple and RevenueCat for subscription purchase, verification, and restore flows
How We Use Information
- To import images you select from Photos or Files
- To convert supported image formats into PNG files
- To estimate output size, show previews, and display conversion progress
- To save converted PNG files to your photo library when you request it
- To share or export converted PNG files when you request it
- To maintain a local conversion history on your device
- To manage free usage limits, subscription status, purchases, and purchase restoration
- To improve app stability and support purchase-related functionality
Photos, Files, and Device Access
PNGPX may request access to your photo library when you choose to import images from Photos or save converted PNG files back to Photos. PNGPX may also access files you explicitly choose through the Files picker.
PNGPX does not scan your photo library automatically. The app only accesses images and files you intentionally select or actions you explicitly trigger.
If you use the optional delete-originals action for items imported from Photos, PNGPX will request the necessary permission from Apple and perform that action only after your explicit choice.
On-Device Processing
Image conversion is performed locally on your device using Apple system frameworks. Your selected images are not uploaded to our servers for conversion.
The app may create temporary local files during import and conversion so it can process your selected images and generate PNG output.
Storage and Retention
- Selected images and converted PNG files may be temporarily stored on your device during processing
- Converted PNG files remain on your device until you delete them
- If you choose to save PNG files to Photos, those files are stored in your photo library until you remove them
- Conversion history is stored locally on your device using local app storage until you clear it or remove the app
- Purchase status and certain app settings may be stored locally on your device to improve your app experience
Third-Party Services
PNGPX uses the following third-party or platform services:
- Apple services, including Photos, Files, App Store, and related iOS frameworks, to support image import, save, share, and in-app purchase functionality
- RevenueCat to help manage subscriptions, purchase validation, entitlement status, and restore purchases
Apple and RevenueCat may process information such as transaction details, subscription status, device-related identifiers, and purchase metadata to provide billing and subscription services.
Analytics and Tracking
PNGPX does not use third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs at this time.
PNGPX does not use your images for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your images with our servers for conversion.
Information may be shared only when necessary to provide subscription and platform functionality, such as through Apple or RevenueCat for billing and purchase restoration.
Legal Bases and User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding information we control, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, or further information about your personal data.
Because PNGPX is primarily local-first and much of your data remains on your device, many privacy controls can be exercised directly by you.
You can:
- Revoke Photos permission in your iPhone or iPad Settings
- Delete saved PNG files from your device or photo library
- Clear local app history inside the app if that option is available
- Remove the app to delete most locally stored app data

Help & Support Q&A
Q: How do I convert an image to PNG? A: Import an image from Photos or Files, review the preview, then tap the convert action to create a PNG.
Q: Does PNGPX upload my images to your servers? A: No. PNGPX is designed to process image conversion locally on your device.
Q: Why is the PNG file sometimes larger than the original? A: PNG stores image data at full quality, so files are often larger than compressed formats such as JPEG, HEIC, or WEBP.
Q: Can I convert more than one image at a time? A: Yes. PNGPX supports batch image conversion.
Q: Can I save my converted PNG files to Photos? A: Yes. You can save converted PNG files to Photos if you grant the necessary permission.
Q: Can PNGPX delete my original images automatically? A: No. Originals are not deleted automatically. If the app offers a delete-originals action, it only happens after your explicit choice and Apple permission flow.
Q: How do I restore my purchase? A: Open the paywall or support-related purchase area and use the restore purchase option. If you still have trouble, contact support@1kbapps.com.
