Privacy Policy
What the app does
Photosio scans your photo library on your iPhone to find duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, blurry shots, large photos and videos, and chat-saved media. You review the results. Deleting selected photos requires a Pro subscription.
Data collection, usage, and storage
Photosio does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Scanning and analysis run on your iPhone using Apple's on-device frameworks. Your photos never leave your device for analysis.
- Photos: read with your permission to find cleanup candidates. If a photo is stored in iCloud, Apple's Photos framework may download it to your iPhone so it can be analyzed. Photos are deleted only when you select them and confirm in the iOS prompt.
- Last scan summary: stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone so you can reopen results later. It is excluded from backups and deleted when the cached file is removed.
- Preferences: onboarding choice, theme, and subscription cache stored in standard on-device settings.
Third-party services
- RevenueCat: tracks subscription purchases (purchase history and identifiers) for revenue analytics. It does not receive your photos.
- Apple (StoreKit, App Store): processes subscription payments. Apple holds your payment and subscription data under Apple's privacy policy.
No advertising SDKs. No cross-app tracking.
Your rights
You can revoke photo access anytime in iPhone Settings. You can delete the last scan summary anytime in Settings → Clear saved results. This never deletes photos. For questions or deletion requests, email support@1kbapps.com.
Children's privacy
Photosio is a general utility app and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
Technology Used
- Apple frameworks: SwiftUI, PhotoKit (Photos), Vision (similar-photo detection and best-shot scoring, on the iPhone), CoreImage, Accelerate, BackgroundTasks (lets a scan you start keep running in the background), and StoreKit 2 for subscriptions.
- Third-party SDK: RevenueCat for subscription tracking only. Purchases are completed and verified with Apple's StoreKit.
- No other SDKs or servers. There is no account system and no app server.
Help & Support
Need help? In the app, go to Settings → Contact support. Mail opens with your app version, iOS version, and iPhone model filled in. You can edit or remove them before sending. Or email support@1kbapps.com directly.
What does Photosio do?
It scans your library and groups duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, blurry shots, large files, and chat-saved media, with an estimate of reclaimable space. You pick what to delete.
What can I try, and what needs Pro?
Scanning and reviewing results is available to everyone. Deleting selected photos requires a Pro subscription (Weekly or Yearly).
How do I subscribe?
Tap Get Pro on Home, Upgrade to Pro in Settings, or any Delete button marked with a lock. Pick Weekly or Yearly and confirm with your Apple Account.
How do I restore purchases?
Go to Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases, or tap Restore at the bottom of the paywall. The subscription follows your Apple Account, so it works after a reinstall or on a new iPhone.
How do I manage or cancel?
Go to iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select Photosio Pro and cancel. Access continues until the period ends.
How do I check a photo before deleting it?
Open a category and tap any photo. Swipe between photos, pinch or double-tap to zoom, and play videos. Tap Keep or Delete to mark each one. Nothing is deleted until you tap Delete and confirm.
Can I leave the app during a scan?
Yes. Tap Run in background. On iOS 26 and later, the scan keeps going and iOS shows its progress. If iOS stops it to save power, Photosio tells you, and you can scan again.
The scan found nothing. Is that normal?
Yes. A clean library means no duplicates, blurry shots, or clutter in this scan. Try again after taking more photos.
Deleted photos: where did they go?
Deleted items move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app and can be recovered for 30 days. Storage is freed when you empty Recently Deleted or after 30 days.
The app says it needs photo access.
Grant Full Access for the best results. With Limited Access only selected photos are scanned. Change this in iPhone Settings.
