PhotonPDF Privacy Policy, Help & Support
Last updated: March 18, 2026
This page explains how PhotonPDF by 1KB Apps handles information, how to get help, and the terms that apply to your use of the app.
Privacy Policy
PhotonPDF is a photo-to-PDF converter designed to process your files on your device. We aim to collect as little information as possible and do not require you to create an account to use the app.
Information We Collect
Images and files you choose to import. When you select images from Photos or Files, the app accesses only the content you choose for conversion.
Locally stored app data. PhotonPDF may store information on your device such as appearance settings, welcome-screen status, free conversion count, cached subscription status, and local conversion history.
Conversion history data. Local history may include items such as conversion date, file names, file sizes, PDF sizes, selected output quality, saved/exported status, local file references, and photo library asset identifiers for items imported from Photos.
Subscription and purchase data. If you purchase, restore, or validate a subscription, Apple and our subscription service provider RevenueCat may process purchase-related information such as product identifiers, receipts, entitlement status, transaction identifiers, and app/device-related identifiers needed to manage access.
Support communications. If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and any information, screenshots, or attachments you include in your message.
How We Use Information
To import images and convert them into PDF files.
To store your preferences and local conversion history on your device.
To enforce free-use limits and unlock Pro features when a valid subscription is active.
To restore purchases and verify subscription entitlements.
To respond to support requests and troubleshoot reported issues.
On-Device Processing, Storage, and Retention
PhotonPDF performs PDF conversion locally on your device. Your selected images are not uploaded to our servers for conversion.
Images imported from Files may be copied into temporary app storage so the app can process them.
Converted PDFs are created in temporary local storage on your device until you export, share, remove, or your system clears temporary files.
Local history, preferences, conversion counters, and cached subscription status remain on your device until they are removed by the app, overwritten, or deleted when the app is removed.
If you choose an export option that preserves more source detail, the generated PDF may retain some metadata from the original image. Please review files before sharing if metadata privacy is important to you.
Photos Permission
PhotonPDF may request access to your photo library so you can import images from Photos. If the app provides an option to manage or delete originals imported from Photos, that action is performed only at your direction and subject to iOS permissions.
Third-Party Services
Apple. PhotonPDF relies on Apple frameworks and services such as Photos, Files, the App Store, subscription management, and the iOS share sheet. If you export or share a file using Apple or another app/service you choose, that destination handles the file under its own terms and privacy practices.
RevenueCat. PhotonPDF uses RevenueCat to load subscription products, validate purchases, restore purchases, and manage subscription entitlements.
We do not receive your full payment card information. Billing is handled by Apple.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
PhotonPDF does not currently include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or app tracking technology in the app. We do not use the app to serve targeted ads.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when necessary to operate subscription features, comply with law, respond to your support request, or complete actions you ask the app to perform, such as sharing or exporting a PDF through Apple or another destination you choose.
User Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain personal information.
Because PhotonPDF does not require an account and stores most app data locally on your device, many privacy choices can be exercised directly by deleting exported files, removing app data, or uninstalling the app.
Subscription records and billing are managed by Apple and may also be processed by RevenueCat for entitlement management.
If you have a privacy question or request, contact us at support@1kbapps.com.
Children's Privacy
PhotonPDF is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support communications, please contact us at support@1kbapps.com so we can review the request.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this page from time to time to reflect app updates, legal requirements, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page.

Help Q&A
Q: How do I convert photos to PDF?
A: Open PhotonPDF, choose images from Photos or Files, review the selected images, choose the export quality, and start the conversion. After conversion, you can preview the result and export or share it if available under your current plan.
Q: Does PhotonPDF work offline?
A: Yes. Image-to-PDF conversion is designed to run locally on your device. An internet connection may still be needed for subscription purchases, restoring purchases, or opening external links.
Q: What file types can I import?
A: PhotonPDF supports common image formats available through iOS, including formats such as JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, BMP, WEBP, and other supported image types. Existing PDF files are not converted again.
Q: Why does the app ask for access to Photos?
A: Photos access is used so you can import images from your photo library. If the app offers original-photo management, that permission may also be used only when you ask the app to perform that action.
Q: Where are my converted PDFs stored?
A: Converted PDFs are created locally on your device in temporary storage. You can then save them to Files or share them using the iOS share sheet. Temporary files may remain on your device until removed or cleaned by the system.
Q: Does PhotonPDF upload my images to your servers?
A: No. PhotonPDF performs conversions locally on your device and does not upload your selected images to our servers for conversion.
Q: Can the PDF keep image metadata?
A: Depending on the export quality option you choose, the PDF may preserve some source metadata. If metadata privacy matters to you, review the exported file before sharing it.
Q: Why can’t I save or share my PDF?
A: Some export, sharing, or unlimited-use features may require a Pro subscription. If you already subscribed, try using the Restore Purchase option in the app.
Q: How do I restore my purchase?
A: Open the app and use the Restore Purchase option. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple account used for the original purchase.
Q: How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
A: Subscriptions are managed by Apple. You can manage or cancel them through your Apple account subscription settings.
