Privacy Policy

Overview

Livedeo is designed with privacy at its core. All video conversion processing happens entirely on your device. Your Live Photos and converted videos are never uploaded to any server, and we do not collect, store, or share your personal data.

Data Collection

Livedeo does not collect any personal data. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any identifying information to use the app.

On-Device Processing

All Live Photo to video conversion is performed locally on your device using Apple's AVFoundation framework. Your media files never leave your device during the conversion process. The app works fully offline — no internet connection is required for conversion.

Photo Library Access

Livedeo requests access to your Photo Library to:

• Browse and select Live Photos for conversion
• Save converted video files back to your Photo Library (when you choose to do so)

This access is requested through Apple's standard permission system. You can grant, limit, or revoke this access at any time through your device's Settings app. Livedeo never accesses photos or videos beyond what you explicitly select or approve.

File Access

When you import a Live Photo video from the Files app, Livedeo accesses only the specific file you select using Apple's secure document picker. The app creates a local working copy for conversion purposes and does not access any other files on your device.

Local Storage

Livedeo stores the following data locally on your device:

• Converted video files: Saved in the app's Documents directory until you delete them.
• Conversion history: A record of your past conversions (file names, durations, file sizes) stored in UserDefaults for your convenience.
• App preferences: Your chosen output format (MP4/MOV), video quality setting, theme preference, and notification preference are saved in UserDefaults.

All locally stored data is excluded from iCloud backups. You can clear your conversion history and exported files at any time from within the app.

Notifications

Livedeo offers optional local notifications to alert you when a conversion finishes, especially useful for background or batch conversions. Notification permission is requested only when you enable this feature in Settings. These are local notifications only — no push notification servers are involved.

Subscriptions & Payments

Livedeo offers optional premium subscriptions (Weekly and Annual plans) to unlock features such as unlimited exports, saving, and sharing. All payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store. Livedeo does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.

Third-Party Services

Livedeo uses the following third-party service:

• RevenueCat: Used solely for managing in-app subscription status and purchase validation. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID to track subscription entitlements. No personal data such as your name, email, or device identifiers is shared with RevenueCat by Livedeo. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Analytics & Tracking

Livedeo does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, or advertising frameworks. We do not track your usage, behavior, or activity within the app. The app's Privacy Manifest explicitly declares that tracking is disabled (NSPrivacyTracking: false) and no data is collected (NSPrivacyCollectedDataTypes is empty).

Children's Privacy

Livedeo does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the app does not collect personal data from any user, it is safe for all ages. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Your Rights

Since Livedeo does not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete from our end. All data generated by the app (converted files, history, preferences) is stored locally on your device and can be deleted by:

• Clearing conversion history within the app
• Deleting individual converted files
• Uninstalling the app (which removes all app data from your device)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Getting Started

Livedeo converts Apple Live Photos into standard video files (MP4 or MOV) that you can save, share, and post anywhere. Here's how it works:

1. Import a Live Photo: Tap the import button on the home screen and choose a Live Photo from your Photo Library or import a video file from the Files app.
2. Review & Convert: Preview your selected Live Photo, choose your preferred output format and quality, then tap Convert.
3. Save or Share: Once conversion is complete, save the video to your Photo Library, export to Files, or share directly to any app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a Live Photo?

A: A Live Photo is an Apple feature that captures a short video clip (approximately 1.5 seconds before and after) along with a still image when you take a photo on your iPhone. Livedeo extracts the video component from your Live Photo and converts it into a standard video file.

Q: What output formats does Livedeo support?

A: Livedeo supports two output formats — MP4 and MOV. You can set your preferred default format in the app's Settings under "Conversion Defaults."

Q: What video quality options are available?

A: You can choose from three quality levels:

• High: Best quality, larger file size.
• Medium: Balanced quality and file size.
• Compressed: Smallest file size.

Q: Does Livedeo require an internet connection?

A: No. All conversion happens entirely on your device. You can use Livedeo fully offline. An internet connection is only needed for purchasing or restoring a subscription.

Q: Is my data safe?

A: Yes. Livedeo processes everything on your device. Your photos and videos are never uploaded to any server. There are no analytics, no tracking, and no ads.

Q: Can I convert multiple Live Photos at once?

A: Yes. In the Library tab, you can enable multi-select mode to choose multiple Live Photos and convert them all in a batch. You'll be notified when the batch conversion is complete (if notifications are enabled).

Q: Can I convert Live Photos stored in iCloud?

A: Yes. If your Live Photos are stored in iCloud, Livedeo will download them to your device before converting. You'll see a download progress indicator during this process.

Q: What's the difference between the free preview and Pro?

A: The free preview lets you convert Live Photos and see the result. Upgrading to Pro unlocks the ability to save converted videos to your Photo Library, export to Files, and share to other apps — with unlimited conversions.

Q: How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

A: Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone to view, change, or cancel your Livedeo subscription. You can also restore a previous purchase from the app's Settings or Paywall screen.

Q: My conversion failed. What should I do?

A: Conversion may fail if the file is corrupted, the video track is missing, or your device is low on storage. Try the following:

• Ensure you have sufficient storage space on your device.
• Try re-importing the Live Photo.
• Restart the app and try again.

Q: Where are my converted videos saved?

A: Converted videos are stored within the app's local storage. From the completion screen, you can save them to your Photo Library, export to the Files app, or share them directly. You can also view past conversions in the History section.

Q: Can I change the app's appearance?

A: Yes. Go to Settings → Appearance → Theme and choose between Dark, Light, or System (follows your device setting).

Subscription Terms

• Livedeo offers auto-renewable subscriptions (Weekly and Annual plans) to unlock premium features.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.
• Free trial periods, if offered, automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.

Technology & Frameworks

Livedeo is a native iOS app built with the following Apple and third-party technologies:

• SwiftUI: The app's user interface is built entirely with SwiftUI, Apple's modern declarative UI framework.
• AVFoundation: Apple's media framework is used for reading Live Photo video tracks and exporting them to MP4 or MOV format via AVAssetExportSession.
• Photos Framework (PhotoKit): Used to access your Photo Library, fetch Live Photos, and save converted videos back to Photos.
• StoreKit: Apple's framework for handling in-app purchases and subscription management.
• RevenueCat SDK: A third-party service used for subscription lifecycle management and purchase validation. No personal data is collected by RevenueCat through Livedeo.
