Your privacy is extremely important to us. Textkit is designed with privacy as a core principle.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. Here's what you need to know:

No Account Required: Textkit works without any sign-up or login
100% On-Device Processing: All text extraction happens locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's Vision framework
No Cloud Uploads: Your images and extracted text never leave your device
No Analytics Tracking: We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking tools
No Advertising: Textkit does not display ads or share data with advertisers

Data Storage

Extracted text and scan history are stored locally on your device only
You can delete your history at any time from within the app
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

Permissions

Textkit requests the following permissions:

Camera: To capture photos for text extraction (optional)
Photo Library: To select existing images for text extraction (optional)

These permissions are only used for the stated purposes and data accessed through them never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

Textkit uses Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment processing. We do not have access to your payment information.

Getting Started

How do I extract text from an image?

Open Textkit and tap "Take Photo" or "Photo Library"
Select or capture an image containing text
Use "Auto Select All Text" to highlight detected text, or
Tap "Auto Extract All Text" for full OCR extraction
Copy, share, or save your extracted text

What image formats are supported? Textkit supports JPEG, PNG, HEIC, and most common image formats.

Features

What is "Auto Select All Text"? This feature highlights all detected text in your image, allowing you to copy it directly. It uses Apple's Live Text technology for instant recognition.

What is "Auto Extract All Text"? This performs a full OCR (Optical Character Recognition) scan of your image, extracting all text with high accuracy. The extracted text is displayed in a separate screen where you can copy, share, or save it.

Which languages are supported? Textkit supports multiple languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and more. The app automatically detects the language in your image.

How do I restore my purchase? Open the app, go to the Premium screen, and tap "Restore Purchases". Your subscription will be restored if you have an active subscription on your Apple ID.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone
Tap your name at the top
Tap "Subscriptions"
Find Textkit and tap "Cancel Subscription"

Troubleshooting

Text extraction is not accurate

Ensure your image is clear and well-lit
Avoid blurry or low-resolution images
Make sure text is not at an extreme angle
Try zooming in on the specific area with text

The app is not detecting any text

Check that your image actually contains readable text
Handwritten text may have lower accuracy
Very stylized fonts may not be recognized

Camera is not working

Go to Settings > Textkit and enable Camera access
Restart the app after granting permission

Subscription Terms

Weekly Plan: $2.99/week after a 3-day free trial
Yearly Plan: $19.99/year (Best Value)

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
