Thank you for using Docmenty, the fast and private document converter for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your documents remain yours alone.
1. Data We Collect
Docmenty is designed to work without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information. The only data the app needs to perform its function are the document files you choose to load into the app — and those files are handled entirely on your device.
2. How We Use Your Data
Documents you open or convert inside Docmenty are processed locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's built-in frameworks (PDFKit, Vision, WebKit, and UIKit). Your file contents are never uploaded to any external server, transmitted over the internet, or shared with any third party. Conversion happens entirely on your device.
3. Data Storage
Docmenty does not permanently store your original or converted files on any remote server. Temporary working files created during the conversion process are written to your device's secure temporary storage and are automatically deleted as soon as the conversion is complete. Your converted output is presented to you directly for saving or sharing at your discretion, and saved only to your chosen local destination (e.g., the iOS Files app).
Your conversion history (file names, file sizes, and conversion timestamps) is stored locally on your device using secure iOS storage. This data never leaves your device.
4. Third-Party Services
Docmenty uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchase validation. RevenueCat may collect anonymized, non-identifying purchase-related data — such as subscription status — solely for the purpose of managing your subscription. RevenueCat does not receive your document content. You can review RevenueCat's privacy practices at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, social media trackers, or data brokers.
5. Analytics
Docmenty may collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic data (such as crash reports and performance metrics) provided through Apple's standard platform diagnostics, only if you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in your iOS Settings. This data contains no personally identifiable information and no document content. It is used solely to improve app stability and performance.
6. User Rights
Because Docmenty does not collect personally identifiable data or store your documents remotely, there is no personal data profile to request, correct, or delete on our servers. You remain in full control of your files at all times. You may delete the app at any time, which will remove all locally stored conversion history from your device.
7. Children's Privacy
Docmenty is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us at support@1kbapps.com and we will take prompt action to remove any such information.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of Docmenty after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

General
Q: What does Docmenty do? A: Docmenty is a document format converter for iPhone and iPad. It converts PDF files to editable .docx documents, and converts .docx, .doc, .rtf, and .txt files to PDF — all privately on your device.
Q: Which file formats are supported? A: For PDF to Doc conversions, Docmenty accepts standard PDF files (including scanned/image-based PDFs). For Doc to PDF conversions, supported formats include: DOCX, DOC, RTF, and TXT.
Q: Are my documents sent to the internet or any server? A: No. All conversions are performed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks. Your files are never uploaded to any external server and are never shared with anyone.
Using the App
Q: How do I convert a PDF to Doc? A: On the home screen, make sure the "PDF to Doc" tab is selected at the bottom. Tap the circular "Select PDF File" button, choose your PDF from the Files app, and the conversion will begin automatically. When complete, you can save or share the resulting .docx document.
Q: How do I convert a Doc to PDF? A: Tap the "Doc to PDF" tab at the bottom of the home screen. Then tap "Select Doc File" and choose your document (DOCX, DOC, RTF, or TXT) from the Files app. The app will convert it to a PDF and present the result for you to save or share.
Q: Where is my converted file saved? A: When the conversion is complete, you will see a "Save" and "Share" option. You can save the file directly to your iOS Files app and access it from any compatible app on your device.
Q: Can Docmenty convert scanned (image-based) PDFs? A: Yes. Docmenty uses Apple's Vision framework with high-accuracy OCR to recognize and extract text from scanned PDFs. The recognized text is then saved as an editable .docx document. Complex layouts are reconstructed as faithfully as possible.
Q: Will my document's formatting be preserved? A: For native (non-scanned) PDFs, Docmenty extracts and preserves the original rich text formatting including fonts, bold, italic, and font sizes. For Doc to PDF, the app uses Apple's WebKit renderer to faithfully reproduce tables, images, headers, and complex layouts in the output PDF.
Q: Can I convert a document while the app is in the background? A: Yes. Once a conversion starts, you can switch to another app. A progress card will be visible when you return to Docmenty, and you can tap "Open" to return to the conversion detail view.
Q: How do I view my past conversions? A: Tap the "History" tab in the bottom navigation bar to view a list of all your previous conversions, including file names, sizes, and the conversion date.
Subscription & Purchases
Q: Is Docmenty free to use? A: Docmenty is free to download. Free users can perform document conversions. A Pro subscription unlocks unlimited conversions, the ability to save and share converted files, and high-quality output.
Q: What subscription plans are available? A: Docmenty offers a Yearly plan ($29.99/year) and a Weekly plan ($4.99/week with a 3-day free trial).
Q: How do I restore a previous purchase? A: Go to the Settings tab and tap "Restore Purchase". Alternatively, tap "Restore Purchase" on the subscription screen. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Q: How do I cancel my subscription? A: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's Settings app: go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, find Docmenty, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Q: I purchased Pro but the app still shows Free — what do I do? A: Please try tapping "Restore Purchase" in the Settings tab. If the issue persists, email us at support@1kbapps.com with your Apple ID (email) and we will assist you promptly.
Troubleshooting
Q: The conversion failed. What should I do? A: This can happen if the file is corrupted, password-protected, or in an unsupported format. Please ensure the file is not password-protected and is in a supported format (PDF, DOCX, DOC, RTF, or TXT). If the problem persists, please contact us at support@1kbapps.com with a description of the issue.
Q: The converted .docx document doesn't look exactly like the original PDF. Why? A: PDF is a fixed-layout format and does not store document structure the same way .docx does. While Docmenty does its best to preserve formatting, some complex layouts, custom fonts, or decorative elements may not convert with 100% fidelity. For best results, we recommend reviewing and touching up the converted document in a document editor.
Q: I found a bug or the app crashed. How do I report it? A: Please email support@1kbapps.com with a description of what happened, your device model, and your iOS version. We take all bug reports seriously and act on them quickly.
